The Uptown Blanco Art Center, in the historical district of Blanco, TX on 3rd Street, is a community inspired facility that offers Hill Country residents a unique variety of fine art and craft instruction. Uptown Blanco Art Center is housed in a charming, refurbished craftsman style 1930's home. The Art Center is 100% wheelchair accessible. It has drawing and painting classrooms and a ceramics/clay class room. We offer a limited number of essential art supplies for the beginning student as well as the serious artist. Art classes and fine art workshops for adults and school age children are offered throughout the year.

Workshops:
- ART NIGHT
Every Tuesday Night! 6pm - 8pm
Prices vary upon project. Approximately $20.00, materials included.

Description: Projects change monthly and participants will complete one project each Tuesday session. Attend one night, or come back to learn more and do a variation of your art. Each month is a new project ranging from Shibori Silk Scarf to Batik on Paper to Ceramic Glazing. Contact the Art Center for the next month's project or to suggest a project. Every Tuesday night you can join friends for fun and creativity and be instructed on a special creative project. Open to all, but space is limited, please call ahead.
April 2013 Lacy Glazed Plate. $20.00 per session, every Tuesday in April. Create a glazed plate or a set of tile coasters with a lace design. Colors and lace design can vary according to your style and décor. The glazing application will be completed on Tuesday evening. Pieces will be fired at a later time, and you will be given a date to pick up your glazed artwork. Plate and all supplies included.

May 2013 Shibori Silk Scarf. $20.00 per session, every Tuesday in May. Create a uniquely dyed silk scarf using the Shibori arashi method. Join us as we continue this very popular workshop at Uptown Blanco Art Center. First time participants will create a silk scarf. Return participants can choose from several items including different size tote bags (great for groceries) and different size scarves and bandanas. There will be a price increase on some items due to price of item. All supplies included.

Monday thru Friday, 10AM – 3PM
$150.00 per week, all materials included. Sibling/ repeat discount 10%. Students need to bring daily sack lunch.
Description: Daily hand’s-on art projects to challenge and expand the artist’s imagination will include drawing, painting and clay sculpture. Age appropriate activities will stimulate creativity and boost problem solving skills and self-esteem. All materials and a healthy snack are included.
Newsletter:
After School Program
Workshops change by season and cover different mediums such as: drawing, painting, clay, paper making, batik, fabric arts, bookbinding and using found items to create whimsical creations. All supplies are included in the workshop fee.
M - F, 3:45 to 5:00
$8.00/day, $35/week
Grades K – 5th

Pottery Parties - Birthday parties for children, bridal showers, scouts /clubs, church groups, etc. call for details.

The Uptown Blanco Art Center is always looking for qualified instructors in the fine arts; including ceramics, painting, drawing, metal working, glass, jewelry, printmaking, photography, textile arts, etc. We are interested in any fine art or craft class proposal you may have. Uptown Blanco Art Center Memberships and Studios
Annual Memberships are available and include benefits including discounts on Art Center workshops and art supplies, the use of the Art Center resource library, opportunities to have art consignments in the Art Center Gift Shop and use of the Art Center Studios.
Attend Tuesday Open Studio – utilize the Art Center studios weekly with your fellow UBAC members. Share ideas and talents in this open workshop environment. Studios are open from 10AM – 8PM
The Studios in the Art Center are available for artists of many different mediums. The pottery studio is equipped with electric wheels, kilns, slip table, tools, several types of clay and glazes. Multi-use studios are available for painting, collage, sculpture, etc.
We welcome you, and your friends who are looking for a bright, and cheerful place to make the Art Center your spot to meet and work on a project. Be it a one time, or ongoing group that works together on a regular basis, our studios are open to you.

Paint your own Pottery
Do you have a birthday coming up, or are you looking for something fun to do with your brownie, girl or cub/boy scout troop? A family reunion? Bridal shower? Baby shower? Girl's night out? Why not come to the Uptown Blanco Art Center and have a pottery party? Everything you make is LEAD-FREE and FOOD-SAFE.
No experience is necessary... You're invited to come into our studio and select from a wide variety of greenware, which is pottery that has already been fired once in a kiln. We offer a great selection that includes plates, bowls, mugs, tiles, canisters, vases, animals, planters, piggy banks, treasure boxes, novelty items and more. It's FUN! After you have chosen your pottery, you design your piece and select your colors. Color glazes, brushes, sponges, stencils, stamps and other tools are available, along with lots of friendly help!
Our prices include the cost of the piece, paints, glazing, firing, etc. Pieces range from $10 - $60, plus tax.
